| Corolla Verso comes under the category of dull but worthy, It's the kind of car that's useful to have around, but you could forget you owned it. Don't expect any driving thrills, or even a flash of pride as you see it in the driveway; this is a domestic appliance, not a lifestyle accessory. This criticism may seem unfair to a vehicle which has decent handling, a nice engine line-up (although the 2.0 D4-D feels a bit underpowered) and an excellent reliability record. But its appeal as a family MPV is also limited by having just five seats in a relatively large body when compact rivals such as Zafira and Multipla manage more. That said, Verso does have two useful built-in child booster seats as standard. Equipment levels are good and used examples look reasonably priced, although quite scarce. If you like Verso but need more seats, the 2004 model accommodates seven. |
